Electronic Notice of Arrival/Departure Services
Under 33 CFR Part 160 (Subpart C), vessels are required to make electronic advanced notice of arrivals to the U.S. Coast Guard’s (USCG) National Vessel Movement Center within the prescribed timeframes. These Electronic Notices Of Arrival/Departure or eNOAD, are to be submitted prior to entering/departing U.S. ports and facilities and must also include information outlined in the aforementioned regulation. Shipmasters/Shipowners are responsible for ensuring that the most accurate information is transmitted to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the USCG via the submission of the eNOAD to the National Vessel Movement Center and done so within the prescribed time limits. With effect from 6 June 2005, the filing of vessel manifests for passengers and crews must be performed electronically. The regulation conforms with the requirements by both the USCG and the CBP.
