Captain Nishit Kapoor comes to us from ECM Maritime Services, where he held a senior management position for 17 years overseeing activities including emergency response, vessel services, regulatory compliance, drills and training, contracting and business expansion. Prior to that, he has held key positions with one of the world’s leading ship managers handling emergency response, maritime security, quality and environmental management, and insurance claims.
He began his seagoing career in 1983 with the Great Eastern Shipping Company, after which he moved to Wallem Shipmanagement and served in various ascending seagoing ranks aboard OBOs, VLCCs, and Suezmax Tankers. After several years as Master aboard oceangoing tankers, he was chosen to represent a group of owners as a shipbuilding supervisor in South Korea, as part of the site supervision team to construct Tankers, as well as a specialized ice-class Floating Storage Offshore (FSO) vessel, where he served as the startup operations adviser during their maiden deployment in Sakhalin, Far Eastern Russia, at a production facility operated by Marathon and Shell.
Outside of his day-to-day activities, his interests lie in studying military history, languages, and keeping up to date with environmental developments in the maritime sector.
